It's all about the planning

Chloe was taking Bertrand out for his daily walk. Or rather, she had been. She was a good goat mother and she never liked to be off schedule. But as Chloe traveled to the park with Bertrand obediently in tow, she got hungry and predictably enough, there was a detour.
So in the end, she wound up changing direction until she found herself in front of the Gourmet Deli Trail. Chloe walked around, trying to decide what to nibble on, purchasing random fruits or whatever to feed Bertrand. After all, he shouldn't have to wait while she was trying to make up her mind.
And then she saw... cheese. Curiously, she nibbled a sample and asked what kind it was. The woman answered that it was goat cheese and you could see Chloe's mind start jumping. Ding, ding, ding!
Lots of teens her age were getting jobs. It was about time for her to get a job too, wasn't it? And this place was perfect! First things first... figure out who to talk to. Simple!

Holidays! Olivia had just been starting to get used to the whole new school thing before she was told it would be holidays for the next couple of weeks.. something to do with a festival or something in the UK which had left Olivia a bit meh about it all, no decent bands where playing so instead she'd bunked back in with Dad, caught up with the washing and trying to remember to study between work and hanging out with friends. Warragul was certainly more her kind of town, there was like.. six different pizza shops! Even if a couple where pretty crap. Alonzo's was pretty good.. they didn't skimp on the toppings and gave you a free drink if you ordered a small one.. eh not that she ever did. Right now though her mind was on other things.. two things to be precise. 1. the money in her wallet from getting paid 2. Coffee.. and not the crappy stuff her Dad had a tendency to buy if you left him to do the shopping. No one thing Olivia had picked up from hanging around Storm's house was the importance of decent coffee. So with her day free until 5 there was nothing better to do then to check out the shops and grab a few things while she was at it. So with a pocket full of cash and a mind on the prize.. or in this case a full bag of superstrong coffee beans and a plunger so she could make it at home she headed into the deli.
Checking out the shelves for anything else that caught her fancy.. the money clearly burning a hole in her pocket as she like so many teenagers fell into the trap of trying to save vs all the exciting possibilities that could be bought right now. A voice chatting with the woman at the front desk was instantly recognizable. Chloe was here, Cool! Grabbing her 'loot' Olivia glanced at the doorway to find a rather familiar goat sitting in front of the 'Deli' sign marking the cafe as part of some 'Deli Trail'.. which started to make sense as the woman at the counter explained about how there was lots of towns around the region that specialized in foods like cheeses, fruit, vegetables and honey. Yes, even fresh Goats Cheese from the Farm in Drouin. Olivia had to admit she was pretty curious as well and made her way over, waving hello to her friend before reaching up to put her items on the counter for safe keeping... that way she could 'talk' or well.. more honestly text, since she'd discovered that it tended to be easier and faster then trying to write little notes all the time. / Hi Chloe / Olivia signed, she was in a good mood today since Storm had told her about Igor's 'mysterious appearance' .. not that Olivia really knew what to make of it, but she guessed that if Igor couldn't find her well she'd just have to find him. But not today, today was for the living and being 'normal'.. well at least as normal as you could be when Chloe was around. That thought caused Olivia to grin, just what mischief was she up to anyway?

Chloe hadn't been paying much attention at first. It was only the vague way that people had when the doors opened and all. But this person came closer and as Chloe focused more, she became aware that to she recognized her. Olivia! She waved all friendly like because you had to be a jerk not to say hi to your friends.
It was a pretty good distraction too as Chloe forgot all about her thoughts on getting a job. It had been a moment since they'd spoken too. She wondered what Olivia had been up to lately.
"How have you been?" She asked, smiling.

It was funny how you could move and yet so many of the same folks where still around. Olivia used to always hate moving because it meant saying goodbye to all your friends but this time, because of the new school it was like everyone moved together. That was kind of cool. / Really Good! / Olivia signed in reply to the question, a grin on her face wondering just what was up that had brought Chloe into town. / What are you up to? / Olivia signed, remembering to go slowly and use 'simple' ones that Chloe would know. Sometimes she forgot and would reel off a long sentence and only remember after that not everyone could make sense of her signs. Storm and her Dad where probably the only ones in the world.. oh and Miss Cook but Olivia hadn't seen her since that time last year when she'd walked out on her. Dad had said something about Doctor Cook having moved back to Melbourne, as if the fact that she'd moved would make a difference to her not trusting the Psychiatrist one bit.
Distracted by Chloe Olivia missed what the woman behind the counter said and just shrugged, handing over a fifty dollar bill and waiting for change that she rammed into her pocket before signing / I got money today! So cool! / Sometimes Olivia really wished that everyone could read minds, it was awkward having to think of words that 'kind of made sense' while being completely wrong. / How's Bertrand? / Olivia asked pointing towards the door where the goat was waiting, sometimes she'd go around town with Storm and they'd have their Pigmy Puff's but that wasn't so likely these days because not so many magical people lived in town. Apparently there had even been a ministry report because a couple of house elves from the school accidentally showed up in town and scared a bunch of people. Olivia wished she'd have seen that, it would have been so funny.
