What We Stand For
Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:31 pm
What we stand for?
Equal, Open, Fair, Balanced, Safe, Friendly and Fun
Equal:Equal, Open, Fair, Balanced, Safe, Friendly and Fun
Here at Wizards Without Boundaries we believe that everyone from the guests, Members, old friends and new, right to the staff team are equally important to creating a vibrant and interesting world and community.
This board was created to fill a gap and give every member, no matter how new or old, experienced at roleplaying or just starting out, the change to improve, learn, have fun and leave a lasting mark on the universe.
As part of this Wizards Without Boundaries was designed to be accessible to anyone. While it would be easy to have a big flashy site following the latest rp trends instead we felt it better to have a clear site that anyone can enjoy, hand made to make the most of what was available.
Which we ask members to please be sensible with changing fonts/colours etc. and to please post with proper English, punctuation and spelling. Remember in the end roleplay is about writing, not fashion.
Wizards Without Boundaries aims to grow with you, we provide a blank slate where you can request new places, groups, organisations and even apply to run your own parts of the board to expand the world.
Open:
At Wizards Without Boundaries we work on the principal that all members are responsible for their own actions. We try to be lighter on over the top filters and censorship and instead expect all members to act sensibly and with respect to one another.
At Wizards Without Boundaries we aim to be open and accountable so that you will always know what is going on and more importantly why.
To this aim we will be working to make clear the Wizards Without Boundaries policy on all rules and how issues are to be dealt with so that members and staff alike are aware and able to check for themselves.
Fair:
Tired of putting all your effort into rping and seeing nothing for it? Or feel left out in the action? Want more from your RP?
At Wizards Without Boundaries we aim to have a transparent system where any member who roleplay consistently, provide a good and positive service to the board and wants to take on the challenge can apply to found a school or adopt one of the current schools, take on the CEO of a major wizard organisation or charity.
In addition every member can request landmarks and locations to be added to the board. Forget having to play in a small set of places, instead roleplay where you want to play, it could be the town you live in, a place your character is from or just a place that we haven't had a chance to build yet.
Balanced:
Balance is the key to rp on Wizards Without Boundaries. We aim to provide a world that is close to real life with just that added touch of Potterverse Magic we all know and love. For that reason we may on occasion request edits or suggestions to help bring a character closer to realism.
Here our aim is not to just tell the stories of the rich, powerful and perfect but to focus on the everyday amazing people that make up this world.
Wizards Without Boundaries is about the people you might meet down the street, not on a tv screen.
That's not to say that we won't accept rich, powerful or attractive people, but they must be well rounded with flaws like everyone else!
Safe:
Wizards Without Boundaries may be a brand new site but behind it we have members and staff with years of roleplaying experience (often surpassing my own!) right down to the newest of newbies.
Here we believe that nobody should ever feel afraid to speak up about problems and will actively work to deal with problems no matter how big or small they might seem.
Most of all should you ever feel unfairly treated by staff or another member you have a range of options from reporting a post to sending a email to Staff all the way to confidentially submitting a Abuse Report. You can find links to both Contact and Report at the bottom of every page and the icon to submit a post to staff on the top right corner of every post.
Friendly:
It's a scary ride going from a newbie to a bringing a site to life. I still remember being freaked out and how important it was for my confidence to hear a kind word at the right time.
Here at Wizards Without Borders we aim to be friendly, welcoming to all and do everything we can to make roleplaying easy and enjoyable no matter your level or experience. Our aim is to make this site a great place to come to, not just to write but to chat and get to know people from all over the world.
To do this we go to a lot of effort to make sure no member is left out with nothing to do. We're starting small so that everyone gets off on the right foot and gets the best chance for input into the direction of Wizards Without Boundaries.
Fun:
Most of all, Wizards Without Boundaries should be fun! For everyone!
We work actively to encourage members to roleplay with people they have never met, organise crazy events and group threads or just give you guys room to sit back and have a laugh in the chatbox.
We're here for fun too, and for the love of building this world with you guys.
A happy staff team make a happy site, and happy members make happy staff, upsets do happen but we aim to do everything we can to deal with them to the best of our abilities, and do so following the above key principals of equality, fairness, openness, transparency, safety, friendliness and of course fun.
As part of this we will have our rules which are lifeblood to keeping things fair for everyone and stops the board becoming a free for all. We try hard to keep rules reasonable and enforce rules not to make things less fun, but to ensure that the board remains consistent, peace is maintained and Wizards Without Boundaries is always the best place it can be.
In return we expect you guys to be good enough to give us the benefit of the doubt, we're not always going to be perfect, and not always going to say yes to everything but we'll always offer alternatives, ideas and do our best to so that everyone can get the most out of the site.
This is what Wizards Without Boundaries is about, we're putting this up front so that every member, visitor, guest or other will know why Wizards Without Boundaries exists and how we expect members, guests and ourselves to behave.
We hold ourselves to these principals, and expect our members to hold to them as well.
With Love,
M and "Q"
