WWBN-NY Radio Personality set to Run for Office?

The Magical world today woke to a flurry of Werks and stories after last night's broadcast of Dunena Reid's Weird Weird World hinted, quite strongly that recently crowned Houglass Magazine's Person of the Year Dunena Reid, was set to enter the race for the 2012 American Magical Elections with no lesser sight then the Minister's position currently held by Ronald Frump.

Speaking to the Ministry this morning reporters where told that while some paperwork may have been received it was after the weekend cut-off and would not be looked at until the subsequent week at the earliest.. unless it had fallen on the desk of one F. Blake in which one just had to hope that it would be filed at all.

Considered a possible hoax a interview with Producer and year long associate of Mr Reid Benjamin Jefferson led to the following statement "The hell I know? Trust me man I'm usually the last to find out these things"

Fri Sep 02, 2011 10:23 amFifi LaRoux
Yes ladies the roamers where true that none other then high flung socialite and darling of the European Ministry Fifi LaRoux has been sighted in Melbourne, Australia which has recently been named the worlds most livable city for a second time.

While none have stated what brought on the arrival of Miss LaRoux there's been no question that the world famous Hit Witch has made no secret of her visit with roamers of a behind closed doors meeting with the Minister for Magic himself before dining out at the exclusive Vue de Monde for drinks. Seemingly at home in the city Fifi underwent a tour of the Auror department before attending the midwinter launch of the Matacore 'Enchantment' line of fashion robes. Speaking exclusively to WWBN Fifi states that she was very pleased to be in Australia and would not commit to any return dates nor roamers that her visit had anything to do with attempts to influence the Australian Ministry to re-think it's ties to Ronald Frump's ministry.

WWBN World News : Pottermore to go head to head with Woozle?
Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:51 pmM
"In Global News today many Muggles the world over logged on to the unveiling of 'Pottermore' last night, a new co-production between 'JK', Warner Brothers and Muggle Game Man..Man..Manufacturer Sony. Promising to give Muggles and Wizards alike a whole new experience many prominent figures in the magical world have come out damning what they see as yet another crass profit making exercise at the expense of the magical community.

One Hogwarts teacher has stated that since this 'Pottermore thing' started they have been inundated with well over one thousand owls from worried parents, former students and others wishing to know if it would mean Muggles would be allowed to study at Hogwarts or.. worse the school was to give up it's long held stance amongst the only schools to not have it's own interweb network.

While many in the Wizarding World are concerned Woozle today speaking to WWBN-Japan was quoted as "Not at all Worried" while reminding Wizards and Muggles alike that "whatever Pottermore promises to be there is no doubt that with Sony it will only be a matter of time before hackers get it".

In other news the Australian Ministry of Magic has moved to deny any connection to a self-declaired witch jailed for recklessly causing serious injury and dangerous driving. The Australian Minister for Magic was quoted as calling the woman a 'Bloody Idiot' while reminding that no matter what world one thinks they belong to, the laws of Australia still apply.

Amid the turmoil ratings for WWBN's radio talk show have skyrocketed making it more popular then 'Clives Charms Hour'. Speaking to the head of WWBN it was quoted that 'Whoever Dunena is they're on to a good thing, and might just be the Wizarding Worlds answer to the Muggle World's 'Julian Assange'"

"Are you sure your okay Ellie?" Kat asked her sister, the look of concern palatable. It had been raining on and off all day and the grounds where slick with mud lit up with the lights of the stages and multicoloured displays picking out the directions between the seas of people and tents with campfires off to the distance. To many such a sight would be both awe inspiring and daunting, so many people together from so many walks of life on display amongst the 'formerly green..now rather muddybrown' fields of Avalon. To the Davis children this was the best thing to home, Kat couldn't even remember her first Glastonbury, she'd have been all of one when their family first descended on worthy farm thanks to their uncle smuggling them in the family campervan. Each year was different, but none more so then this year as for the first time she hadn't arrived with Ellie and Owen, Mum and Dad but with her brother Marcus and his girlfriend. It was all very strange to Kat, while she was happy to be back and see her family again things where not quite 'right', she missed Australia and most of all missed Anton, it had been months now since he'd left for assignment. Maybe that was why Kat had never before had a real relationship.. to fall in love and stay in love meant knowing that you would hurt when it came time to move on to a new place.

Of course it didn't help that unlike moving from one school to another she knew Anton had gone to Japan. Japan with it's horrible radiation and earthquakes and so many people.. Kat woke up in the middle of the night screaming from nightmares where Anton was mutated horribly like the pictures Ellie had in one of her books, or trapped under rubble calling to her... but she was too far away. Kat didn't like the dreams, she didn't like life when it was complicated, instead the simple, the happy was what she thrived on but sometimes it was difficult, like now when she was trying to get her sister to stop long enough for her to see that the security guards hadn't hurt her.. what Ellie was doing to upset them so much Kat had not a clue but she was horrified to catch sight of her sister pressed up against a fence with whole lot of other people. The last Kat had heard Ellie had been in Japan and now here she was avoiding her questions as they left the Pyramid stage area.. her brother she'd lost in the crowd during the first song but she knew roughly where their tent was and they knew to head for the MSF display that WWB had taken part in putting together if anyone got lost.

It was strange how normally Glastonbury at night was when they had the most fun, singing and dancing.. Owen with his fire-twirling and they would wander around the camps taking in the music and dance until the sun came up the next day. This year Kat didn't feel like dancing, she'd made the mistake of seeing the MSF display that WWB had helped with and found herself shivering, unable to look at the ruined building that was supposed to show the people what it was like.. Kat didn't need a reminder, more she needed to forget but a year on she knew that would be one thing that was truly impossible. It had been hard returning, Ellie she knew was about to start talking about how she needed to focus more on her studies and not worrying so much about Anton, but it was hard when looking around the crowds she missed him so much for a moment she was sure that she saw him, standing there looking for her. It was probably just her imagination but for a moment she was sure that it was Anton.. which was impossible, he was in Japan.. Kat knew that.. so why did she have this feeling? Maybe it was like the Alice in Wonderland movie and she was going mad.

"I'm fine Kat.." Ellie wasn't fine, nothing was fine since the stupid overzealous pricks had ruined what was supposed to have been a impressive non-violent protest against the blatant hypocrisy of one of the biggest bands in the planet. U2 where still playing and it made her sick to think that people where singing along happily and completely ignorant to the fact that her friends and her had been so mistreated. "Can you believe it.. Glastonbury.. ten years and I have never seen the security guards lay a hand on anyone like they did tonight.. Glastonbury's supposed to be about having a voice and doing the right thing and look at them.. blind as a bunch of stupid sheep" Ellie had been frightened, and her instinct was to lash out even as she knew her sister wouldn't agree nor care it helped to vent and speak of what was on her mind. It was better then finding that security guard who'd grabbed her and socking him one in the face. She really didn't need to spend another night sitting with her arms in cuffs.

Watching Kat Ellie knew something was wrong with her sister, ever since the year before when they had been assigned to Haiti Kat had grown quieter which to Ellie worried her as much as if Owen one day discovered how to do laundry and got a real job that lasted more then a day. Changing the topic as they reached the end of the main crowd Ellie turned her attention back to her sisters mood "That boy got you real down eh?" Ellie stated bluntly and watched as her sister blushed and shook her head no. "Come on Kat.. you haven't written a word about him for weeks" For Kat to not waste half a letter detailing everything about this 'Anton' was a downright miracle to Ellie but a warning bell alongside. Ellie had been forced to watch Kat the last time a boy broke her little sisters heart and while Ellie knew that finding love herself was about as likely as Bono turning around to give all his profits to the government to bail them out of debt while peace reigned over the middle east and gay marriage was declared legal thought out the world... tomorrow she would have to give in to a tiny spark of hope when the news from NY arrived but Ellie was forever pragmatic.

This was a conversation Ellie had been trying to work her way up to with Kat for a long time, kind hearted, foolish Kat who would always run off after the pretty boys on the beach and cry about it later when they where assigned to move on. Kat who wrote long letters to uncaring boys in far off lands and then tried to hide when she found out that they where nothing but liars (oh yes Owen had told Ellie exactly what had happened that day... or at least a skewed version that had plenty of 'curious edits' and additions... Ellie was quite sure the bit about the gigantic blond sheep Owen had seen playing panpipes wasn't true for one). Ellie was warming up for her 'take care of yourself first and worry about him later speech' that she knew Kat wouldn't like, but everyone else was being too nice, Kat didn't need assurances she needed cold hard facts, Owen was the one for the wishy-washy whereas it was usually her tired responsibility to sit down and get to the bottom of things.. which she would have done better if Kat had been paying attention and not looking around as if she'd lost something.

How long had it been? He knew that however many weeks it had now been since he had used the portkey out of Australia, they had been too many. It had been hard work, labour intensive but the young man had not minded it at all. What he had minded was the distance between him and a certain lovely witch that he had missed terribly. Sure they had letters they sent back and forth but the mail those first couple of weeks had been rather erratic and for some reason, the outgoing post had not been picking up as frequently as it should have been, leaving a stack of letters growing at the main camp. However, Anton's team had completed their stay, limits being placed on everyone because of the nuclear reactor damage, even if they weren't working near it. Better safe than sorry had been the recent motto.

Now, Anton was wondering about his homeland, or at least a small section of it known as Glastonbury trying to find someone in particular. He had finally managed to call his dad while the team were waiting for portkeys to arrive and ask him to get a message to Kat that he would be coming to the new school to see her. Fortunate that he did for Gerard had informed Anton that Kat was in England. Cue Anton switching portkeys for the one that got him into London and a floo network that he was more than familiar with. His backpack was slung on his shoulder and a small bag dangled from his hand as he wandered around trying to find that someone special.

He was about to give up and move to another area again when he spotted a flash of a certain shade of hair that was quite familiar. She was talking to a dark haired woman that Anton did not recognize so he made his way over, making sure he came up behind the girl that he was now sure was Kat, thanks to the other woman saying her name.

Standing behind her, he grinned as he commented, "That's always the trouble with cheshire cats, you can never find them when you want to." You would have thought he would have had enough sense to make sure he had braced himself, in case.....

Frowning Kat didn't believe Ellie, the security guards had been big and her sister was hardly more then skin and bones.. all of which concerned her as she wandered listening as Ellie talked and trying to take in all the words she didn't quite understand. Kat just nodded along "It does feel different this year" she added, her mind on other thoughts like how even seeing her brother's band play had been ruined from the rain. The rain wasn't the real factor though, Kat had been to years when the field flooded and others where mud ruled over everything and had a wonderful(abet rather messy) time. Glastonbury was supposed to be a safe place, but it seemed to Kat that the older she got the less safe the world felt and the more fragile everything became. Everything seemed to be forever changing.. Owen had left one day a floppy haired kid and come back a long, bearded man.. Ellie she had last seen in a dress a size too big and now here she was, small but strong as she tramped though the mud in a pair of bright red paints.. even they where too big for her. It reminded Kat of the pictures she'd seen of young boys who had become solders, Ellie had always been the strong one for Kat to look up to, the one who would stand up and hit back when things where tough. Kat who wanted to give the world a hug and feed it until everyone was better while Ellie wanted to change the world, break walls down so that she wouldn't have to.

"There's not that much to say Ellie" Kat argued, a blush amongst the freckles. "He's on assignment.. you where in Japan so you know how it is" Kat crossed her arms, rubbing them to get warm as she really should have warn something more then just her dress and wellies...or Gum Boots as she had learnt they where called in Australia. It was hard not to feel hurt by Ellie's words.. the fear in the back of Kat's mind that something horrible might have happened. "How come your not in Japan anyway Ellie? Did something happen?" The face of her sister said in big letters that yes, something had. Kat sometimes was very much the curious leading herself to harm as her sister turned away again, the darkness in her eyes lost in the glow of the party lights and stages where bands where still playing. Kat didn't much care about the lineups of the concerts, she went where her feet took her and right now the most important thing was making sure her sister was okay and that she wasn't alone. Kat didn't like being alone anywhere.. well apart from the beach where she could spend many hours forgetting everything else as long as the tide was right.

Against the roar of the crowds behind them the two sisters walked in silence, one magical, one Muggle to a casual eye they might have just been unlikely best friends. Kat didn't want to think about school or classes "Rowan say's I'm doing really well and Marcus well.. he's not so bad when you get to know him I guess.. Chloe's really nice too" Kat started but she knew Ellie wouldn't settle with that.. a pity because that was all she was going to get as a voice spoke up behind her. Utterly baffled Kat whisked around and there was barely enough time to breath before /WACK she attacked.. arms flailing, legs getting caught up and hair all over the place as she tried to hug/kiss and cling all at the same time... a situation where on later thought could have been on whole new levels of awkward if the boy wasn't in fact Anton and just her imagination playing tricks.

Stopping for a moment to rub her shoulder, she felt tender and wished that she didn't bruise so easily and that the security guards hadn't been so heavy handed. Maybe if Kat understood what it was all about Ellie might have felt a bit foolish about the whole thing, the idea that a big sign would somehow mean people would sit up and take notice when even the most pressing needs where lost under the trivial reports of royal marriages and such trite. Sometimes Ellie really did feel like she was living in a Orwellian nightmare. "I'm sorry you didn't like the display" Ellie stated simply, thinking that Kat was talking about the MSF display. Ellie thought the whole thing was a bit sickening herself, having DJ's and music.. people dancing while interactive displays where all well and good..right up until the people walked off with their branded designer water and stylish gumboots, in one ear and out the other. Owen was probably having a ball though.. Ellie couldn't help but show the slightest hint of a tired smile at that. Owen who would never let life get him down no matter how bad things where.

Nodding as Kat made some what of a point Ellie sighed and then turned to look away towards the rows of tepee tents as Kat asked why she was here. Why was she here? Well there was many reasons wasn't there.. the fact that the government had decided to take a axe to public spending.. that Owen needed to come home and be a father since she couldn't trust 'Moonbeam' not to hand the poor kid over for a high. Most of all she had been tired "I guess.. I just got tired of it.. it wasn't the radiation or the destruction.. most of the time we where running mobile food vans but as the military moved in they stopped letting us travel and then the radio came out saying there was radiation at the nuclear plants and we stuck on for awhile but Mum and Dad where getting worried and really there wasn't that much we could do.. maybe if we where healers but Owen.. he was good with the kids but could you really imagine him digging though rubble?" it had been hard enough dealing with the situation without having to worry about what Owen was doing 24/7.

It was hard for Ellie to listen to Kat talk about her 'other family', Ellie had always known who her family was and ever since the car crash it had taken many years for her to feel 'whole' again. These people from Australia where a threat to her and while she read Kat's letters they didn't feel part of her world, more a separate group that had managed to step into her life and mess everything around. Owen of course had his own thoughts on the matter that went along the lines of 'piece, love and kinship with everyone' but Ellie wasn't so sure, Kat had been growing so fast that Ellie worried that her little sister might one day forget her boring poor old non-magical family forever... of course Ellie's thoughts where interrupted when looking back there was a man coming up to them.. Ellie was about to ask what he wanted when the next moment Kat was all over him.... Ellie felt a bit ill at the display of public affection of the kind only Kat could get into without a thought to anyone around who was for instance related to her. Had Kat taken something? Ellie naturally worried that Kat had been slipped some kind of drug or love potion.. or was it just that Kat had done what Kat always did after awhile and moved on to the next guy that caught her eye? If so props for Kat for taking her advice Ellie guessed but couldn't she have at least waited until she didn't have to watch the whole thing?

There were many disadvantages to working disaster sites for WWB. Some visible such as the thinner appearance to Anton's frame from the labour and 'snatch and grab' eating the team tended to do while working that would disappear after a few days of home cooked meals. Some less visible but more lingering such as Kat's changed demeanor since Haiti. Some excellent for safety such as the sudden, unexpected movement of earth from aftershocks that caused you to instinctively plant yourself so you remained standing till it passed.

It was this last one that Anton put to use only seconds after the words left his mouth when said cheshire cat decided to turn and 'attack' her 'mad hatter'. Good thing he wasn't wearing a hat for it would have been sent flying in the aftermath as arms and legs were flying and then wrapped around Anton. He took his free arm and wrapped it around her waist, grinning at her response. He managed to return a few kisses before commenting, "Well gee, here I thought you would have been happy to see me," he teased her.

"It's not that I didn't like it.. I know it's important to let people see" Kat said nonsensically, it was like the fundraisers she'd been asked to attend on return from Haiti.. strange events where people did her hair and put makeup.. where she had to dress up and be polite to people wearing fur and all sorts of finery and hold her tongue when they talked about the poor muggles and how things would be better if Wizards where in charge of the whole operation. In truth it was a bit tough holding a conversation with so many distractions, there was concerts going on all three main stages and countless other raves, party's and fares happening all over the wide stretch of farmland. While Kat didn't mind wandering though the main area's most of her time was usually spent in the 'alternative' parts away from the camera's and people handing out fliers and more where freaks like her made themselves at home for the weekend. The kind of places that weren't alien to a maniac 'bananahunt' or people zipping around on broomsticks causing headaches for the ministry of magic later every time one went outside the 'safe magic zones'. Listening to her sister Kat nodded, it made her feel better somehow to know that even Ellie could be struck by how big and horrible things could be, and maybe it made her feel a bit better about the guilt she carried for not being in Japan where she was needed (but not.. as everyone was always stressing as needed as doing her classes so she could become a real healer). Sober though the conversation was it was a tribute to Kat that she had to giggle at the image of Owen doing work for a change but of course nothing had as much impact on her mood as the sudden appearance of a certain Mad Hatter.

"ANTON!"
yes Kat had just prettymuch screamed his name in his ear.. no doubt that any Anton-impersonators would be well and truly scared off by now by the chaotic attack of a girl not quite sure which way to grab her boyfriend and so deciding to try all of the above at once, luck being the only thing stopping the pair from landing flat in the mud.. well that and Anton moving his hand to keep her from falling over and taking him with her. "Anton! Wha?..why?.. ohmygodEllieit'sANTON!" Cue supersquishinghug. There was no question she was glad to see him again, Kat was a ridiculously affectionate and physical person and so poor Anton was given the full onslaught as Kat put her arms around his neck, standing on tippytoes to press as much of her as she could against him. Okay so she'd missed him.. in every sense of the word as only a young, free spirited teenager could. So there might have been rain falling, so it was muddy and crowded and Ellie was there but Kat didn't care, if it wasn't for the clinging mud and people stomping about she'd take him that second and think nothing of it. "I'mHappy...." cue another squshykiss before stopping to catch breath, "but how.. why are you here? How did you get here?" Kat's eyes looked up at him in confusion, to think just a few minutes ago she had been just starting to listen to Ellie talking as if he'd never come back.. and here he was, in the flesh (Kat had checked throughly to assure this point) and with her. Maybe it was true what they said about Glastonbury bringing people together, Kat hadn't really thought about it but here she was, with a family bigger then before and Anton, wonderful Anton with her.. what more could she want? Kat couldn't think of a single thing. Happiness was all.

It was hard not to notice when Kat's attention had drifted off, Ellie sighed, talking to her sister was almost as bad as Owen sometimes.. which was saying something! Sighing Ellie had taken the lead towards Shangla La, she didn't know what time it was but with the sun down it was easier to get around before the main press of people packed into the southern fields when the main stages shut down. Of course then Kat had her moment.. Ellie didn't even manage to catch a glimpse of the guy before Kat got to him. Whoever he was he'd dropped something in the onslaught and Ellie stepped forward to pick it up. Unlike her peers Ellie wasn't one to take things from strangers and so turning her head away as the snogging went on Ellie fiddled with the bag unable to help the mixed feelings as Kat proclaimed to the world at large that it was Anton.. the guy from Haiti that had become her sisters latest fixation. "Got that the first time Kat" Ellie said plainly as her sister went on raving. It was hard though not to feel a bit happy to see that the boy.. or more man? had returned. Ellie had already seen Kat take a broken heart, Ellie knew how to be strong but Kat had always been the baby of the family, protected and vulnerable to whatever came along.

So she waited.. and waited.. until there was a moment where she could break in "You dropped this" she said looking up at Anton as she offered the bag. "I'm Ellie.. Kat's sister" wet as it was she put out a hand to shake before giving Anton a look up and down.. just how old was he? Kat had never been clear on that.. did Dad even know she was dating a twenty-something year old? But politeness was important too and so Ellie tried to put the best foot forward "Kat said you where at Japan? Owen and I where stationed there a month back.. we must have just missed each other". Ellie wasn't the best at meeting new people, maybe it was because she'd grown up in situations where you never knew if someone was going to be carrying a infectious disease or carrying a weapon. People reacted to such things in different ways, Ellie tended to give the world a cold shoulder, if only till she had a chance to know what she was dealing with. Anton at least had the advantage of Kat's letters, though much to Ellie felt too good to be true that this man could be everything Kat said. Of course the fact that he was here.. well that helped a lot.

"Anton? Where?" he asked from amid the tangle of female known as Kat Davis. "He's here too?" Anton teased her laughing and hugging her with his free arm. Even though he was tired and running on spare energy, he felt energized to be near Kat again. From then on, it was a barrage of questions and answers as Kat rattled on and another woman, who apparently was with Kat joined in, though, thankfully, in a calmer manner. Anton tried to answer all of the questions and ask one or two as well

"I'm happy your happy"
"Thanks" as he retrieved the bag from Ellie.
"How is portkey and floo. Why because I was hoping you would come as you always do and I'd find you here. How was covered with portkey and floo."
Passing the bag towards Kat "For you"
"Yes I was. Just left this ........." he looked around confused with the time changes that had just occurred in a matter of just a couple of hours. "... Well, two hours ago in total travel time. Your afternoon?"

Keeping one arm around Kat's waist as her exuberance seemed to have 'calmed down' a bit, he held out his other now free hand, Kat having taken her package from him, to Ellie. "Anton Hunter and I'm guessing you must be her sister, Ellie?" he asked as he introduced himself to the young woman.

"Don't be silly!" Kat said squeezing Anton all the more for arguing before snuggling against him, how long it had been since she'd been able to touch, hug, kiss him? How she'd survived was downright a miracle. For the moment she could put aside all her worries and nights of fretting, the nightmares and worry that something horrible might have happened. "I've missed you so much" Kat sniffled for a moment, jumping from one emotion to the next as she tried to catch up with the fact that yes, it really was Anton, and yes he really was there. It was still raining, Kat had been shivering in her dress that wasn't at all suited to the cold but it didn't matter as she leaned against Anton, listening to him talk. Kat loved to listen to others speaking but Anton was infuriating, teasing her. "I can't believe it!" Kat repeated, yes even a little lost for words as she embraced him a final time before taking the bag that Anton held. "Me? But you shouldn't have.. Anton" Kat had to keep repeating his name, it was a type of magic in her mind that things weren't real until spoken and written down, Anton wasn't real until she'd said it enough times that there could be no doubt.

"You missed Marcus and his band, they did a set on the Park stage.." Kat explained before giving into temptation and having a sneak peek in the bag, it was too wet and dark to tell much and she didn't want to open it until they got under cover somewhere.. a challenge in the open air venue but there would be plenty of little niches where they could settle in once they'd got to the South Field away from the main traffic. "How was Japan?" Kat asked before remembering Ellie was there and blushing, she'd got so caught up that she'd totally forgotten her sister. "Yes this is Ellie" Kat bounced on her toes, partly to get warm against the slushy mud underfoot. Heart on her sleeve as she moved to take his hand so that they could walk without slipping over before looking a little hurt and confused as Ellie made a excuse to leave. That wasn't like her, but then again none of them where the same, you couldn't see so many people hurt and so much destruction without it changing you deep inside. Kat was learning to grow from it, to grow stronger but it was hard sometimes. Giving her sister a farewell hug she made sure Ellie was really okay before running back to give Anton a hug "I'm so glad your here.. Did you know they have a Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole.. and then there's another part that's like the future and some movie.. Ellie mentioned it.. something Runner?" Kat said exited about giving Anton a full tour of what for the Davis family was the closest thing to their real home town.

It was very strange for Ellie to watch Kat with her boyfriend, two sisters very different, Ellie just looked away and waited before handing the man the bag, he seemed nice enough, better then many of Kat's 'boys' which probably explained why he'd lasted more then Kat's usual record. "Not much of a guess, I'm sure Kat's bored you with the photo album by now" the 'album' was a bit of a joke, everyone knew it was more a shoebox that Kat shoved things into that where 'important' to show off to whoever might cross her path. Ellie couldn't talk, she was no different for the postcards and photos that covered most of her one room flat, Ellie liked to think that while she couldn't afford to get the Daily Mail she could travel the world from the walls of her home. It was a way of staying in touch when you never saw people for months or years at a time, the moving postcards from parts of the world that she would never get to see, old friends in the magical world, and uni buddies who thought it was MSF that she spent all her time with.

Ellie couldn't help but feel like a third wheel.. she wasn't like Owen who would just smile and go along with everything. "Eh.." Ellie said after a while as it became clear that Kat was going to be okay for the night. "I'd better go see what Owen's upto.. you know what he's like" Ellie offered a smile, one thing about living on the brink was that it really made you appreciate the people who where important to you.. foolish brothers included. "It was really nice meeting you Anton, tomorrow if you two don't have plans why not drop by the van for breakfast?.. and Mum's really missed you too" Ellie added to Kat, a little accusingly that her sister was spending more time with this 'new' family then with her own. Giving Kat a farewell hug after refusing half a dozen times to join them and assuring that she was okay (even though she really wasn't) Ellie managed to escape her sister, turning up her collar as she headed home... or the next best thing.

Trying to look as innocent as possible, Anton just responded with, "Me? Silly? Never!" laughing with Kat as he did and holding her just a little bit closer, not only out of having missed her so much but grateful that she was safe here rather than having been in the scenes he had just left. "Believe it, I'm right here," he assured the continually reassuring-herself bundle of excitement known as Kat. "Marcus and the guys played here again? I am sorry I missed that," he asked in a combination of both surprise and a 'why am I not surprised' tone. Anton had learned quickly over the last few years, not much Marcus ended up doing was surprising sometimes.

At Kat's question about Japan, Anton resisted the urge to shudder. "Unbelievable," was the only word he managed and that was in that kind of tone that those who were involved in the types of things WWB did understood. "But there's always hope," he finished, trying to be as upbeat about it as was possible. There was definitely hope for the people there were determined to do more than survive. Though as Ellie excused herself and they all said their farewells for the evening, Anton promised Kat's sister that they both would be there for breakfast the next morning. With that, keeping his arm around her, he let her lead him on a tour of Glastonbury, showing interest when she mentioned the Rabbit Hole. "Shall we head their first after dropping my stuff off at your tent?" he asked, indicating his backpack.

"Course you're silly.. your right round the bend!" Kat argued, but then again wasn't that true of all of them? No sane person would turn their backs on a warm bed and dry feet to tramp around in mud alongside thousands of others, nobody in their right mind would chose going into war zones and disasters over a life of money and good things. Kat didn't care, she wanted her mad hatter and maybe the Cheshire Kat didn't grin as brightly as when he was around. Maybe Ellie was right and it was foolish to be so open but Anton wasn't like any other boy she'd met before and even when she was alone at night she knew in her heart that he'd never let her down. It was hard to believe she'd almost come to think Ellie was right when Anton was right here, and of course he would be, Glastonbury had that kind of magic about it that it was when they always tried to be in one place. Even Auntie Brenda used to come to the festival on some years when the weather was nice enough. "I'm glad you are here" Kat said, she'd probably repeated those words a few times by now but it didn't make them any less true. shaking her head a little as Anton apologized Kat didn't need it, here was here, that was all that mattered. "Marcus said it wasn't as good as last year.. all the rain kind of ruined things I think and he said Beanie.. I'm not sure who that is but they did something to the power.." Kat didn't do well at explaining technical things, even when it came to kittens causing chaos with the mixer setup at live gigs. "But they had two drummers.. and sometimes three! You'd have liked that" Kat finished with a smile, she didn't quite understand why but she knew it was something Drummers probably understood.

With Anton so close it wasn't hard to read his moods even in the low light, Kat bit the corner of her lip and ran a finger over his face he looked thinner, Ellie was thin as well, it worried her that her sister didn't take good care of herself. But then again they all had the habit of getting lost in the scale of events and forgetting that they too needed to eat, sleep and rest. "There's always hope.." Kat repeated the words Anton spoke a moment after him, nodding to herself in agreement that they where truth. In many sense it was the unwritten motto of everyone who worked with Wizards Without Boundaries, that no matter how bad the situation was there was always the hope that there might be something worth saving. She couldn't help a blush at Ellie leaving so soon, guilt for putting Anton ahead of her own sister making her a bother before realizing that Ellie was going to be stubborn and in one of her moods. "Breakfast... first thing! Promise!" Kat agreed before giving Ellie a final hug and running back to Anton, excited to show him everything while not sure where to begin. "My tent?" Kat blinked, she hadn't even thought of that but gave Anton a funny look as her mind checked up on the mental list of 'things most wanting to do when Anton came home' it was just lucky that everyone else was still off seeing the bands. "Okay.. my tent.. " she was blushing a little, hoping Anton would pick up on the hint as she looked around to get her bearings before changing to walk towards the campsite where her brother and that had set up.

One thing about Glastonbury was that finding a tent could be a challenging business "Um.. we where near a Australian flag and there was a big blow up purple cow and.. oh there it is!" it was slow going trying to avoid tripping over guideropes and peoples bags and chairs but she found her tent with nobody home. "It's very wet this year.. you should have seen it in 07 when everything flooded!" Kat explained as she unzipped the tent and climbed inside to make some room for Anton.. aka shove her junk into one corner so he could climb in as well. "England is such a weird place.. last year it was so sunny and warm it was almost like being in Australia" Kat still had a bit of time getting used to the fact that she was living in Australia after so long wanting to be there sometimes it felt like a dream... well right up till it rained and she realized that yes, they had winter and bad weather as well. Crossing her legs she undid her coat and rolled it up to put near the door of the tent so it wouldn't get anything else wet.. it wasn't like staying in the van where there was solid walls and a roof overhead, Kat didn't like Tents all that much but if it meant having one to share with Anton.. well that she could like.

With a promise to meet up with everyone for breakfast, his backpack slung over the outside shoulder and his arm around Kat's waist, the pair headed off to find her tent and drop off his belongs before continuing on. Well, it would of been just dropping off his stuff before checking out the rest of the festival if Anton had not been able to pick up on the hint in Kat's voice when she agreed to go to 'her tent'. After all,

a) he missed her tremendously
b) he had been gone too long
c) she looked gorgeous to him
d) did we mention he missed her tremendously?

Once inside, he settled his things out of the way, sat next to her and.......

...... once they had said hello, he asked her as they dressed. "So, what is 'Rabbit Hole' you mentioned earlier?"

While Kat had at first been worried that Anton might not pick up the hint or not want to or even not be in the mood.. who knew maybe meeting Ellie or even just all the events in Japan would put him off partaking in number one of Kat's short list of 'things to do at Glastonbury'. There was no doubt she was going to get into trouble tomorrow with her brother for 'tent sharing' with a boy but Kat didn't care, as long as she had the peice of bone the medicinewoman had given her when she was 10 to 'ward off the unwanted young ones' still threaded in her hair she didn't worry at all as she stripped off her clothes before helping Anton with his in order to enjoy what at least in this tent was Glastonbury's hottest attraction.

The night certainly didn't seem so cold after, Kat was naturally lazy as she smiled at Anton watching him as he dressed, he was always more shy then she was as she took the time to finally unwrap her gifts properly, blushing and holding the kimono against her before slipping it on. "Oh.. " Kat felt a bit sheepish now about the Rabbit hole. While it was a cool place her real enthusiasm was simply to get Anton away to somewhere where she could jump him and shag. "Well.. it's this place.. and inside there's music and people in costumes and you have all these corridors and doors and each ones a bit smaller then the last.. and sometimes they take two strangers and put them in a room to see if they fall in love and it's all very strange and interesting" .. which was Davis speak for 'likelihood of ending up stoned was quite high'. Kat had more then liberal approach to life, while she wouldn't just go about having sex with just anyone she did enjoy it and life in general.

"Maybe we could go in and pretend to not know each other and they would be so excited!" Clearly not a good idea but really Kat didn't much care.. "Or.." she stretched out poking the end of the tent with her toe "..we could stay in here?" it was still raining outside by the sound of the raindrops hitting the tent, Kat had no idea what time it was, she didn't wear a watch and wasn't about to start now so really she was open to all possibilities...and being Kat the 'all' wasn't a exaggeration. She didn't mind missing some of the events, one thing about big festivals was you always missed something due to the way it changed every year. In a way it was like life, you went with what made you happy today, and hoped that in doing so you didn't miss something you'd regret tomorrow.

He was tired. He was drained by his time in Japan and the travel here. He was worn out. Yet after what just happened, Anton was more energized and content then he had been since living Australia. He was home. Maybe not his physical home but he was with Kat and that was home enough for him right now. He dressed as she explained the Rabbit Hole to him and nodded. It sounded like a nice way to spend time together though he frowned a bit when she suggested pretending they were strangers. "Well, it would be...." he began a bit hesitantly. "But what if they decide the Mad Hatter is better paired with a March Hare instead of a Cheshire Cat?" After all, he did not know if there were any guarantees they'd pair the two of them up together or with others.

As she suggested an alternative, he smiled. "That sounds nice," he told her. "Very nice."

Amazingly enough, they somehow managed to do both, stay there for a while longer and then after dressing again, visit the Rabbit Hole for a while before returning to the tent for the night. The next morning, Anton rose and dressed, ready to meet up with Ellie and the rest of the family for Breakfast.

"Oh well that's simple.. The Cheshire Cat would just have to escape and find him!" Kat giggled thinking of the fun it could be to get lost hunting though rooms after rooms to find her Anton while some poor boy was stuck by himself wondering where on earth he'd 'date' had gone. To someone else it might have been a nightmare but at Glastonbury it was fun. But of course not everyone agreed with her kind of fun, and Kat herself wasn't all that keen on the idea of some other girl being with Anton.. so clearly this needed deeper thought. Which didn't happen when she suggested a alternative, so much for putting it to chance. Kat grinned as she rolled over and 'tackled' Anton, the poor guy no doubt wishing to be anywhere else as they went though all the motions again before admitting that maybe, it was time they actually went out and did something more then each other.

The next morning it became obvious why 'breakfast' had no time, Kat woke slowly, dopy with half remembered things about rabbits and fairies and how she had run into Owen who was convinced that he'd seen a UFO. Kat couldn't quite remember if she'd seen it or not but she'd had fun, Anton had been with her and they'd gone right down the rabbit hole and she'd introduced him to everyone she knew and had lots of fun. Somehow they'd managed to stumble back to their tent where she was sure her brother was going to be crook but he wasn't hope either.. Kat had heard that his friends where DJing somewhere but most of the night was just one long wild blur of fun.

Seeing Anton already getting dressed Kat grinned at him, all proper and nice while she just pulled on a old dress and her boots, there was streamers and glitter in her hair from one of the parties they had stumbled upon and somehow she'd wound up with a paper umbrella and hat.. it must have been the Kimono she'd been wearing last night Kat realized with a giggle as the memory came back to her of a man they'd talked to handing them to her. In truth she was still feeling a bit ill and hungover in the sense that while she hadn't eaten she wasn't really hungry. But that didn't matter one bit as she grabbed Anton's hand and blinking at the muddy, but sunnier weather they headed back towards the MSF where her family where.

"OWEN!" Kat never had trouble finding her brother, running ahead she tackled him in a hug before stealing a joint and waiting for Anton to catch up, bouncing on her feet to find her family appearing in bits and pieces.. always coming and going as she slipped her arm around Anton and beaming went to re-re-introduce him to the family. "DAD! Mum this is Anton.. " she announced finding her Dad at the 'breakfast table' which also doubled as the dinner table, emergency operating table, card table and whatever else it needed to be this week, only to get not quite to the reaction she'd expected.

"Yes.. we know" Arthur had barely glanced up over his newspaper and coffee to give Kat a look of 'we've heard all about it.
"Kat why don't you get a chair for your young man?" Kate had chimed in as she walked though with a tray of toast.. half burnt on the edges from where the old van's grill was a bit offside. So much for the third degree! But then again what was there to say when one way or another though letters or assignments they'd all come to meet bit by bit.
"So, Ellie said you made quite the scene last night..?" Arthur started to ask Anton before Kate broke in "Oh stop being a fuddy duddy.. Kat's nineteen now.. well old enough to make her own decisions"!
"I was just going to ask the boy if he had any trouble getting here.. you know how the Ministry has been trying to cut down on magical people using apperation to get free entry" Arthur explained as Kat returned with a chair for Anton, rolling her eyes a little at her parents before grabbing a chair for herself.

Ellie was feeling a bit better today, Mum had put some balm on her shoulder which was dark and purple with bruises, she'd almost forgotten what had happened the night before after leaving Owen to catch up with some friends which had lead to a non stop party and hooking up with one of the guys she'd known from last year. Owen too seemed a bit more balanced this year, he still wasn't clean but Japan seemed to have done him a bit of good in that he was taking a more active role in caring for Zeus, who knew maybe it would all work out.. if she ignored that Moonbeam had been hanging around with a odd guy all night, she'd tried broaching the subject to Owen but he'd just said the he was her 'mate' and it was all okay. Just how so Ellie didn't understand but then again Owen had always had a rather 'different' view of the universe.

They'd had a bit of a rush around thismorning, Mum insisting that everything had to be 'just right' for when Kat brought her new boy home. Ellie was just glad there had been no mention of inviting that Marcus and all the rest of them, while she was okay with Kat's boyfriends having to let in a entire other family was still a entirely different matter. "Hey Anton" Ellie said waving as she put her guitar aside and got up to say hello. Owen had already been caught up by Kat and Ellie had to laugh at the pair before giving Anton a awkward look, she knew she should probably give him a hug too, if she was Kat there had been no doubt about it but he was still a bit of a stranger. Maybe after breakfast she'd not see him as such but until he'd been though the tradition of a sit-stand-runabout meal with the Davis family it wasn't quite the same.

"You'd better hurry up, Mum's put the toast on" yep, they'd spared no expense. Normally breakfast was a multicultural fare of whatever leftovers could be found in the cupboards but today they'd broken the bank, Mum had apparated in to town and got a loaf of bread, eggs, some jam, juice and even real coffee rather then the thin no brand stuff they normally used. It was a downright feast... all cooked on their rickety old VW stove. "Oh and Kat Nafia sent some of that tea you liked.. she said it's likely we'll be heading back to Africa soon" which was a relief, honestly Ellie was fed up of England, fed up of the cops and the rain so maybe returning to where they had grown up would be a good thing. At least there you really did feel like you where doing good when the people smiled at you, funny how nobody smiled that much in England anymore. "Do you know where you'll be going next Anton?" Ellie asked, it was often topic number one in WWB, where people had been, where they where looking to go next and what it was going to be like.

"Japan was wacked man.." Owen said as he joined the table, puffing smoke before handing the joint to Ellie who dropped it in his glass of orange juice...they had a rule not to smoke at the table. "Aye..... Kittykat.. your smile says you took good care of your teddyboy last night aye?" Turning the topic back into embarrassing territory before giving a 'yow' as Ellie kicked him in the shin from under the table. Yep it was bound to be a interesting breakfast all right as Ellie glared at Owen for turning the subject back to Kat and Anton's bedroom habits. But that was just part of living in and out of each others pockets, rooms and lives. Everyone was curious, but nobody was quite game to ask outright... well everyone bar Owen of course.

Anton was content to know that the Cheshire Cat would rescue the Mad Hatter if the need arose and considering they did not have to choose plan a or plan b on what to do, the evening was wonderful, even with helping Owen hunt down his UFO, which description of said unidentified flying object involved the words blue, rectangular and vworping. It seemed to never be located and Anton and Kat had made their way back to the tent, waking in the morning rather relaxed. Of course for Anton, waking in the middle of the London Underground during rush hour would have been more relaxed then the quiet tension that pervaded the camp he had just left, the tension that came with knowing there was still a long way to go no matter how much you had got done the day before.

Even the tension of 'meeting the parents' couldn't compare with the pall that hung over some worksites. Of course, considering some of the families that Anton had to deal with when he had dated others, meeting Kat's would be a rather easier prospect, no matter how protective they were. It didn't take them long to find the family as Kat greeted her brother and then made the 'grand introduction'. Ellie came out and Anton returned her greeting, holding out his hand to her, not sure if he had reached 'hugging status' with any of them. Well, maybe Owen considering a supply of Happy Meal Gift Cards that would be sent on various holidays.

Anton did not flinch at the father's comments, though he wondered exactly how much Ellie had related. There was nothing he could do to change that fact so there was nothing left to do but deal with it. Her mother interrupted, causing the father to 'change his purpose' of the question. "Actually, standard issue portkey to the London office which was turned in upon arrival so the trip was not bad at all," Anton responded, knowing he had been too worn out to even attempt long distance apparition the day before.

As Kat got them chairs, Anton waited for her to sit down before doing so himself and then prepared for whatever onslaught he might be facing to start, which turned out to be a rather normal (for WWB workers) question. "No," Anton admitted. "Until uni is completely finished, I'm on an emergency standby status. Emergency arises, they send me." Owen on the other hand, well it was a good thing a) that Anton had already met Owen in Diagon Alley and b) Anton wasn't eating or drinking at that particular moment. Managing not to choke, he nodded and responded with, "She insisted I get some rest and, yes, Japan was," he said, a bit quieter on the last part.

Kat took a long hit of the joint before butting it out in the mud, she knew the rules and unlike Owen actually cared enough about her health.. plus she didn't quite know how Anton felt about it all, for her it had just been part of growing up that drugs where around, Owen and Moonbeam of course where more into it while Dad didn't touch the stuff at all. "Toast?" Kat asked Ellie in surprise, that was fancy! Kat was left smiling at her sister and Anton getting on, that meant a lot to Kat that her family knew Anton and liked him. After all Anton was part of her family, she didn't like the way her family was broken into pieces, how her brother wouldn't even talk to Mum and of course Chloe and their father.. well she knew enough from the stories to know her Father wasn't a good man, but it hadn't stopped her daydreaming as a child about everything being wonderful.

Things seemed to be going well enough though, Kat smiled to herself as she listened to her Mum and Dad bicker.. poor Anton.
"Portkey eh.. well I guess that means you'll be needing a ride back to wherever your going?" Arthur asked giving Anton a surprisingly direct look for a moment before turning his attention to his children as they arrived. "We've got room for one more correct?" Arthur asked, it was a bit of a joke since they had at times apperated with twelve people crammed into the old bus.
"Kat will you be going with us.. or with your brother?" Kate added when Kat returned, Kat couldn't help but notice how her mum was toying with a spoon as she avoided her sons name. Her Mum always fidgetted when she was upset about something.
"I dunno Mum.." Kat answered, "I didn't know Anton was coming so I guess Marcus will know.." Kat spoke softly, aware of the eyes on her. She wished it wasn't so difficult, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel judged for choosing to spend her time with her 'other' family. She never saw it like that, they where family no different to anyone else.

Thankfully Ellie and Owen came to the rescue.. in their own way. "Africa's nice.. least it's warm.. very dry though" Kat added as she wiggled her chair closer to Anton and poked at the eggs her Mum put on her plate. It made her feel nice that her family where going to so much effort, normally it was just a matter of grabbing whatever was there but it made it more special to know her family cared enough to try. "OWEN!" well okay there was some negativities to having your family taking interest in your life. She couldn't believe he'd called Anton 'teddy' that was her secret name. Anton wasn't supposed to know about that!
"Yes, Kat's very good at 'rest'" Arthur stated, giving Kat a raised eyebrow at all the 'rest' she'd done over the years when she was supposed to have been studying. Kat wasn't bashful though and just put her arm around Anton's shoulders to comfort him when Japan was brought up. The table growing quiet for a moment in thought for the people who had lost their lives there.

"Sorry I was a bit..youknow.. last night" Ellie said to Anton, shaking his hand as she apologized before showing him into the 'kitchen' and going to help Mum dish up breakfast. She still had a smile from Kat's surprise at the news that they where having toast, although she did wish the conversation hadn't gotten so quickly onto Anton and Kat's brother. Mum was brave to talk of him but Ellie didn't like him, he'd upset her family and hurt Kat and Mother so no matter how often Owen went on about the guy being 'cool' Ellie wasn't about to agree.

"What do you want for Breakfast Anton?" Ellie asked as she slid fried eggs onto Kat's plate. Dishing up the last of the toast and eggs for Anton, herself and Owen she poked at her food before nodding her head "You must be doing well to get emergency standby" Ellie stated before smirking a little at Owen trying to rescue his soggy joint from the juice cup. "Where are you studying? Kat's never been very good with those details" Ellie added ignoring Owen entirely though not without punishing him for being rude to their guest. It brought up another prickly topic and Ellie looked down at her fingers, Owen had described Japan as 'wacked' but really to Ellie it had been deja-vu, the same feeling of being on shaky ground and not knowing what tomorrow would bring.

"Maybe you'll be lucky and we'll all end up together again in Africa.." Ellie said trying to put forward something positive. In many respects the hardest thing about Japan was that the people where so brave and so quiet. Ellie didn't know if she could be so brave in such a situation but she could never be quiet and a couple of army officials would probably still remember her trying to argue her way into the blocked out zone to deliver food to the people caught in the radioactive zones. Taking a sip of juice before continuing she sent Kat a wry look "Of course that would mean having to learn a half dozen languages just to get though the day..but I'm sure Kat will teach you well there". It was a family joke that no matter where they ended up Kat would usually end up conversing with the locals while they where still stuck with phrasebook and translators.
"Woh man.. so Anton's coming to Africa with us?" Owen had been dazing but woke up enough to catch what he thought was the cusp of the situation. Ellie just gave Owen a tired look, had it not been for the fact that they looked alike sometimes she was utterly amazed they where related for how dense he could be.

Anton had never smoked a joint before but he had munched some of Kat's brownies and probably would try it if Kat offered it, especially after the scenes he had just left. However, he also would not violate the no smoking at the table rule and instead settled for a sip of coffee as she put it out. "Toast would be wonderful," Anton admitted, thanking Ellie as she served some and blushing as he realized by Kat's exclamation that apparently it was a special thing at a camp breakfast.

At her father's question, Anton shook his head. "Once I've gotten a bit more rest, I'll be fine to apparate or use the floo network. I had been hoping to see my mother for a bit after surprising Kat," he looked to Kat for a moment as he said, "She's been asking after you in her letters," and then returning to the rest of the conversation added, "However, she's been sent to Italy for a temporary teaching situation. If Kat is returning to Drouin, I will probably head back with her to see my cousin and his new family. The baby should arrive soon if it hasn't already."

Anton could feel the air change about the table. Heck, it wasn't that hard, that weird clerk at the ministry would have probably felt it and he couldn't help but speak up. "He's a good man," Anton said quietly. "Family is important." Oh well, if they were going to toss him out, there was no sense hiding what he thought. All family was good. It was obvious his was rather scattered and yet they still had each other when it mattered but Marcus had been a good mate to both Anton and his father so he was going to stick up for him when he could.

Thankful for Ellie bringing up Africa, Anton replied, "I don't know. I have some exams to take when I get back and fortunately, I was able to keep up with my assignments in my off hours."

"Oh really?" Kat asked Anton when he mentioned his mum asking after her, blushing she wasn't quite sure what to make of it but turned to her Dad when he spoke up.
"Ah.. yes Sophie, A very good woman.. funny how small the world is" Arthur stated with a nod of his head.
"I heard she had a most awful bug last year, so glad to hear she's well and teaching again.. you'll send her our best wishes won't you Anton?" Kate added to finish her husband's sentence.
"I really do miss her" Kat stated plainly "I wish she was teaching at our school but Italy does sound lovely" Kat explained to Anton, a little sad that she'd yet to find a good healing teacher like Sophie had been. In many ways Kat was realizing that she was running out of time, she was in her final year of schooling now and had to do well and pass her grades to get into the course she needed to be qualified. Thinking about that she didn't first process what Anton had said after about returning to Drouin, until Kat blinked and looked at Anton wide eyed in joy "Your coming home?" a smile appeared on her face at the news, she'd not yet had time to process the fact that she'd have to say goodbye to Anton again, the first time had been hard enough.

While they weren't the typical 'wizarding family', or even a remotely normal family as far as Muggles where concerned it was clear that there was some subjects that where liable to make things edgy, none more so then her brother and Kat felt bad for Anton being caught in the middle of it all. Giving Anton's hand a squeeze under the table in support she knew his father was a good friend of her brother and nodded "Marcus...He means well it's just.. difficult" Kat shrugged, not sure how to defend her brother while knowing that by Ellie's expression she still hadn't come to forgiven him yet for last year.
"I would say considering the circumstances that's hardly surprising Kat" Arthur offered to put his two cents in "..But Anton is right family is important, one can't pick and chose. While he may not like us I think he and his fiancée are most certainly good people to take you in Kat and for that we owe them our thanks and respect in kind" Arthur nodded, while he was usually the one of few words or opinions none apart from Ellie ever dared argue with him when it came to important matters like this.

"Sorry.." Kat whispered in Anton's ear after putting down her fork, apologizing for the scene as it wasn't normal for her family to fight over breakfast (well okay except for Owen and Ellie who where always at each other on a bad day). There was a sense of trepidation as Ellie opened her mouth, but thankfully the subject was a pleasant one, and while things in Africa where not well it was at least a situation they knew about and had experience in treating. Kat had heard enough of Earthquakes for a lifetime and knowing Ellie and her family would be far away from all that was a great relief. "Anton I don't know how you do so well on your studies.. I have soo many exams and assignments I feel my brain will just leak out my ears!" Kat sooked, causing a laugh from Arthur who'd long grown used to her sulking about having to do theory work. While Anton was older then they'd have liked for Kat it was no doubt a good thing that she'd fallen for someone who cared about his education, and not just some attractive lump of manhood like she used to follow around.

"Toast coming up then" Ellie said putting on her cheerful voice as she dished up and passed over the jam and butter. "Let me know if you want more" a small smile as she disappeared into the kitchen to put the plate away and check that Mum hadn't left the grill on by accident. "I didn't know they had a wizard school in Italy" Ellie stated, she was rather offside of much of the magical world and tended to be more focused on the tangible here and now stuff then caring about the history of how some people happened to be born able to wave wands around and do things. It was all well and good for Kat and Mum but her and Owen had never been born with such a gift and so in effect much of the world Kat lived in was useless to her. Not that she didn't sometimes envy her sister on being able to fly though the air and turn into a animal from time to time.

Babies didn't much interest Ellie, but it was a improvement compared to the next topic of discussion, Ellie just sat and held her tongue, not wanting to embarrass Kat by arguing with her boyfriend. It was all well for Anton to say that Kat's brother was a good man, he hadn't seen the way he'd acted towards Mum, swearing and saying horrible things, making Mum and Kat cry and then being rude to Owen as well! No Ellie had not been impressed and it was with betrayal that she looked at her Dad making a big speech about how they should be nice to him. Ellie might have been able to hold her pride in check enough to give Anton the benefit of the doubt but in her mind Kat's brother was scum for being cruel to their mother, and worse for the fact that he'd been here and not even bothered to pay them a visit. Ellie didn't understand why they had to be nice to people who clearly didn't care about being nice to them in return at all.

She knew Owen was going to open his mouth any moment to repeat Dad's words and so taking a breath she beat him at the punch, ready to talk about anything that didn't have to do with that element of the family. "Ugh Exams.. " now that was one thing the entire family did agree on, next to Mum and Dad Ellie was the most educated of the Davis' kids but that didn't come with enough Uni horror stories to sink a ship "My course councilor says I'd have finished my degree three time's over if it wasn't for these WWB Assignments" Ellie joked, but it held a truth as well that trying to have a normal life when at any moment you could be spun around to the other side of the world truly did play havoc on any chances of even keeping a job or managing to make it back for exams without being buried in a mountain of university policy and paperwork. Her and Owen where both rejects of the university system, dumped from course to course until one of them stuck and would accept their less then seller attendance.

It wasn't easy when they asked 'how and when' you where going to be abroad and you had to lie all the time to cover up that you where traveling by portkey and didn't even know where you'd be landing some of the time. Then of course Kat said something and they where laughing, Owen with egg running down his chin and Ellie covering her face in embarrassment at her brother. Sadly this was what went for normal in their lives, a little attempt at trying to be civil ruined by their own inability to be normal. Ellie was ashamed to admit that she wouldn't have her life any other way, burnt toast and runny eggs their equivalent of the five course banquet with a side order of orange juice, tea and coffee for however many turned up. "If you think this is bad you should come for dinner sometime" Ellie teased Anton before throwing a teatowel at Owen to wipe his face. Yes, Anton had survived the baptism of fire and for all intent was a part of the crazy Davis' global extended family now whether he liked it or not.
